AIM/MOTTO
"EDUCATION par EXCELLENCE AND EDUCATED FOR THE SOCIETY"
HISTORY
Founded in 1952, Mar Thoma College is one of the first six institutions of higher learning administered by the Mar Thoma Church. The church ventured into the field of higher education out of the firm conviction that it has a vital role to play in the task of molding the lives of young men and women, who should prove themselves worthy before men and God and equipping them to meet the stern challenges of life. From a small beginning with 250 students and 12 teachers, the college has grown top a premier educational institution with over 3000 students on the rolls and 140 members on the teaching staff today.
The late Most Rev. Dr. Juhanon Mar Thoma Metropolitan, the late Rt. Rev.Dr. Mathews Mar Athanasius and the late Mr. K.K.Kuruvilla and many others have contributed to the development of this institution over the years. The College, celebrating its Golden Jubilee in 2002, is the first college in Kerala to be Accredited by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council(NAAC), Bangalore. This will open up the existing prospects for the college such as academic autonomy.
