Devaswom Board Pampa College, Parumala was established on the banks of the holy river Pampa at Parumala during the year 1968. A group of optimistic, broad minded social workers of the locality (Parumala, Kadapra and Mannar) came forward to work for the future generation and laid down the foundation of an institution for higher educational prospects at Parumala.
In 1983 when the Kerala University was bifurcated, Pampa College opted for affiliation to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.
